KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team traveled to Kalamazoo College on Wednesday night for an MIAA matchup and came up just short in a heartbreaking 66–65 loss that was decided in the final seconds.
The Bulldogs opened the game with strong shooting and disciplined defense, setting the pace throughout the first quarter. Despite their fast start, Adrian found itself trailing by just one point at the end of the opening period. The Bulldogs continued to respond with scoring runs in the second quarter, but Kalamazoo matched them at every turn. Adrian headed into halftime down 27–24.
The second half turned into a tightly contested battle, with both teams trading baskets as the game set up for a dramatic finish. Adrian knocked down key shots late in the fourth quarter to tie the game and force overtime. In overtime, the Bulldogs grabbed a late lead, but a costly turnover allowed Kalamazoo to capitalize, scoring with under ten seconds remaining. Adrian had one final opportunity to reclaim the lead, but the last-second attempt fell short.
Adrian shot 39 percent from the field, connected on 42 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc, and went 13-for-21 from the free-throw line. Morgan Babb led the Bulldogs with 18 points, adding six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Hannah Lisch followed with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while Aubrie Ickes reached double figures with 10 points to go along with five rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
