MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team faced No. 2 Amherst College on Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the SUNY Morrisville Mustang Cup Tournament. The No. 9 Bulldogs led until late in the third period where Amherst sparked a comeback to defeat Adrian 3-1.
The Bulldogs claimed a 1-0 lead in the second period on a power play goal by

Emma Simon. The Bulldogs held the lead deep into the third, but Amherst scored on the power play with 4:49 to go and tie the game. Amherst took the just over two minutes later in the period and later netted an empty net goal to win 3-1.
Amherst finished the game with 29 shots on goal while the Bulldogs finished with 28.
Kiera Stack started in goal and finished the game with 26 saves.
Adrian will take a weekend off and return to action on the road on January 16-17 when the face Lake Forest College for a two-game series. Friday's contest is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET.
