Track & Field Posts Strong Showing at AQ HOF Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Adrian College track and field team traveled west to Grand Rapids on Friday evening to compete in the AQ Hall of Fame Classic, turning in several strong performances across both the men's and women's events.

On the men's side, Adrian made its presence known in the sprints. Jaymes Vines led the way with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at 7.02 seconds, while Cal Delisle followed closely in fifth at 7.09 seconds. The duo continued to shine in the 200-meter dash, where Vines captured first place with a time of 22.91 seconds and Delise finished second at 23.06 seconds. Brandon Berry rounded out the event with a fifth-place finish in 23.76 seconds. In the 600-meter dash, Josh Trudell delivered a standout performance, taking first place with a time of 1:30.59.

In the field events, Ian Kramp placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.36 meters (20-10.50), while Nick Hammond earned eighth with a jump of 6.10 meters (20-0.25). KJ Scott finished seventh in the shot put, posting a throw of 12.35 meters (40-6.25), and Colby Kramp took 12th in the weight throw with a mark of 10.01 meters (32-10.25).

The women also had an impressive showing, highlighted by Alysia Townsend's performance across multiple events. Townsend placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.79 seconds and added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 27.59 seconds. Madaline Goldmeyer followed closely in sixth with a time of 27.95 seconds. Townsend continued her strong day in the high jump, finishing fourth with a clearance of 1.53 meters (5-0.25), while Abigail Miller placed ninth at 1.38 meters (4-6.25).

In the long jump, Piper Pierce earned a fourth-place finish with a jump of 4.67 meters (15-4.00), narrowly edging teammate Emily Peterson, who took fifth at 4.47 meters (14-8.00). Mallory Platzer rounded out the women's field events with a seventh-place finish in the shot put, throwing 9.56 meters (31-4.50).

Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, January 31 where a select group will travel to Wittenberg University. The meet is set to kick off at 10:00 AM.
