FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its 2026 Softball Preseason Poll following a vote of the league's nine head coaches.
Defending national champion Trine University was selected as the unanimous preseason favorite after receiving all eight first-place votes, while Adrian College and Hope College were picked close behind as the league prepares for the upcoming spring season.
Adrian is coming off a strong 2025 campaign, finishing 12-4 in MIAA play and posting a 29-14 overall record.
The Bulldogs return a talented core highlighted by senior first baseman Abbie Hoff, who earned First Team All-MIAA honors and NFCA All-Region VII Third Team recognition last season. Junior outfielder Taylor Gerhardt also returns after being named to the First Team All-MIAA. Additional key returners include senior first baseman Peyton Russell and sophomore pitcher Avery Clark.
Adrian will open its 2026 season on March 1, traveling to Winter Haven, Florida, for a series of games to begin the year.
