COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Adrian College bass fishing team returned to the MLF National Championship over the weekend, competing on Lake Murray in Columbia. The Bulldogs placed six boats in the field, with three finishing inside the top 25.
Nick Seitz and Derek Rodriguez led the way for Adrian, finishing 11th out of 151 boats with a two-day total of 43.05 pounds. Nick Owens and Mitch Straffon followed closely behind in 16th place with 42.07 pounds. Braylon Eggerding and Brady Pinwar also secured a top-25 finish, weighing in at 41 pounds.
Jerry Brumbaugh Jr. and Paxton Giem placed 72nd with 31.05 pounds, while Ryan Kahut and Brady Osborn recorded 29.11 pounds. Quade Lobo and Gavin Rapp rounded out the Adrian lineup with a 147th-place finish.
"Thank you to our two graduated seniors, Nick Owens and Derek Rodriguez, who competed in their final event," said head coach Seth Borton. "Your leadership and impact on our team will truly be missed. Way to go out swinging — incredible job this week."
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, February 20, traveling to Bainbridge, Oklahoma, for another MLF event at Lake Seminole.
