HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Adrian College track and field teams took a short trip to Hillsdale College to compete in the Hillsdale Tune-Up meet in hopes of making final preparations before the MIAA Conference Championship meet on February 27–28.
On the men's side,
Jaymes Vines put up an impressive performance, winning both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Jaymes posted personal bests in both events with times of 6.93 seconds and 22.30 seconds. Additionally, in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash,
Cal Delisle posted two personal bests with times of 7.04 seconds and 22.62 seconds, finishing 3rd in the 200-meter dash. Finally,
Matthew Cunningham recorded a strong personal best in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.26 meters.
On the women's side,
Madaline Goldmeyer started the day strong in the 60-meter dash prelims, posting a personal best of 8.46 seconds and advancing to the finals, where she would finish 6th. More personal bests followed on the day, with
Ava Jones throwing 9.93 meters in the shot put, placing 8th.
Vivian Vallarsa posted a personal best in the prelim round of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.26 seconds, advancing to the finals where she placed 6th.
Finally,
Alysia Townsend had a day to remember. She started by setting a personal best in the 60-meter dash prelim round with a time of 8.02 seconds, advancing to the finals. In the 60-meter dash final, she placed 2nd, setting another personal best with a time of 8.01 seconds. That wouldn't be all for her, as she went on to win the 200-meter dash in a new indoor school-record time of 26.20 seconds, breaking the previous record of 26.35 seconds held by Taylor Sinclair in 2019. The Bulldogs' next meet is the MIAA Indoor Conference Championships, held at Trine University on February 27 and February 28.
