ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Trine University to compete in the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Conference Championships. The men finished sixth out of eight teams, tallying 39 points. The women's team finished fifth out of eight teams, scoring a total of 35.33 points.
On day one of the meet,
KJ Scott broke his own school record in the weight throw, setting the new mark at 17.31 meters to place second.
Ian Kramp helped score points by taking eighth in the long jump.
Brandon Berry contributed points, placing fifth in the high jump. Wrapping up the point scoring on the day was the distance medley relay, earning a sixth-place finish with
Joshua Sharp-Pelto,
Ian Chavis,
Zachary Klepaski, and
Chase Nyack.
The highlight of day two was
Jaymes Vines shined in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. He placed second in both events, clocking times of 6.84 seconds and 22.01 seconds; both are personal bests for him.
Ethan DeBerry placed eighth in the pole vault, helping score points for the Bulldogs on day two.
Day one scoring for the women was kicked off by
Ari James in the weight throw. She placed fifth overall, setting a new personal best of 14.41 meters.
Alysia Townsend had a great start to the meet, winning the long jump and taking second place in the high jump, contributing a mighty 18 points to the team score. The women's distance medley relay finished up the scoring on day one, taking eighth place with
Sidney Pentoney,
Abigail Raftis,
Olivia Dunscombe, and
Isabell Peltier.
On day two,
Alysia Townsend kicked off the scoring by placing fourth overall in the 60-meter dash. She ran a new personal best of 7.86 seconds.
Carly Sicilia added points to the team total, placing eighth in the pole vault. Wrapping up the women's scoring was the 4x400 relay, placing seventh with
Madaline Goldmeyer,
Abigail Raftis,
Sidney Pentoney, and
Olivia Dunscombe.
The Bulldog track teams will travel to Ohio Northern University on March 7-8 to compete in the ONU Last Chance Meet.
