Women’s Basketball Drop Wednesday Night Contest to Calvin University

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team welcomed Calvin University to the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs battled with toughness and energy throughout, but ultimately fell to the Knights, 73–62.

Both teams came out firing, playing at a high level on both ends of the floor. Calvin jumped out to an early lead and maintained the advantage through the first quarter, holding a 20–14 edge. Adrian made several runs in the second quarter to chip away at the deficit, but the Knights answered each Bulldogs basket to keep control. Adrian headed into the locker room trailing by six at halftime.

Calvin carried the momentum into the second half, maintaining a double-digit lead for most of the third quarter. The Bulldogs continued to fight, cutting into the lead on multiple occasions, but Calvin responded quickly to regain separation. In the fourth quarter, Adrian made it a close contest down the stretch, but the Knights managed the clock effectively to seal the 73–62 victory.

Adrian shot 41 percent from the field, 30 percent from three-point range, and went 10-of-13 from the free-throw line. Hannah Lisch led the Bulldogs with 18 points while adding two rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
