ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College women's basketball team traveled to Trine University on Saturday afternoon but came up short, falling to the Thunder 71–45.

Trine jumped out to an early advantage and carried a 20–9 lead after the first quarter. Adrian responded with improved energy in the second, outscoring Trine during the period and trimming the deficit to 34–28 heading into halftime.

Out of the break, Trine regained momentum and extended its lead in the third quarter, carrying that advantage into the final period. The Bulldogs continued to battle in the second half and made several runs, but Trine consistently answered to maintain control. Despite Adrian's efforts to close the gap late, time became a factor as the Thunder secured the 71–45 victory.

Adrian shot 27 percent from the field, knocked down 37 percent of its three-point attempts, and went 11-of-13 from the free-throw line. Aubrie Ickes led the Bulldogs in scoring with 12 points while adding two rebounds. Morgan Babb contributed 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds, along with two assists.

Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, February 11 where they will welcome Kalamazoo College inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
