MEQUON, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team closed out its weekend series with Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, earning a 5-2 victory to secure a split. With the win, the Bulldogs reclaimed a one-point lead in the NCHA standings with one regular-season series remaining.
Concordia Wisconsin struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after the opening period before extending the advantage to 2-0 early in the second. Adrian responded with a power-play goal from Emma Simon to cut into the deficit, and Maddy Loe later evened the score.
The Bulldogs took control in the second period as Julia Richardson and Courtney Ben scored to give Adrian a 4-2 lead heading into the third. Simon added her second goal of the game in the final frame to cap the scoring and seal the 5-2 win.
Parker Beyer led the Bulldogs with three assists, while Loe and Riley Johnson each recorded two. Vanessa Ruban earned the start in net and finished the afternoon with 17 saves.
Adrian returns to action on Friday, February 13, when the Bulldogs travel to Trine University to face the Thunder. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
