Men's Lacrosse Unable to Overcome Early Deficit Against Oberlin

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team dropped a 14-6 contest to Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium.

Oberlin built an early lead and maintained control throughout the afternoon, outshooting the Bulldogs 65-30 in the contest.

Austin Selvage led Adrian offensively with two goals and an assist. Alec Winegar, Bradyn Parrott, Braeden McNamara, and David Harrison each added a goal in the loss, while Trace Tidswell recorded two assists.

The Yeomen opened the game with an eight-goal first quarter to take an early advantage. Adrian responded with three goals across the second quarter from Selvage (2) and Harrison, but Oberlin carried an 11-3 lead into halftime.

Both teams scored once in the third quarter, with Winegar finding the back of the net for the Bulldogs. Adrian added two more goals in the final period as Parrott found the back of the net and McNamara added a late tally.

In goal, Josiah Karnehm made 21 saves on the afternoon. The Bulldogs also went 25-for-27 on clears and converted one of two extra-man opportunities.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back as they continue their non-conference schedule hosting Baldwin Wallace Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
