ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Baldwin Wallace, 13-6, on Wednesday afternoon at the Sweebe Family Athletic Center.
Baldwin Wallace struck first and controlled the opening half, building an 8-2 lead behind a six-goal second quarter. The Yellow Jackets held Adrian scoreless in the first quarter and capitalized on faceoff wins and extra-man opportunities to create early separation.
Austin Selvage put Adrian on the board midway through the second quarter with a man-up goal, and Trace Tidswell followed shortly after to cut into the deficit. However, Baldwin Wallace responded with two more goals late in the half to maintain a comfortable advantage heading into the break.
Tidswell led the Bulldogs offensively with four goals and an assist, accounting for five of Adrian's nine points. Alec Winegar and Selvage each added a goal, while Braeden McNamara and Alex Stoey contributed assists.
Adrian showed signs of momentum in the second half, scoring twice in both the third and fourth quarters, including back-to-back goals in the final period from Tidswell and Winegar. Despite the push, Baldwin Wallace answered each run to keep the Bulldogs at bay.
Defensively, Josiah Karnehm made 15 saves in net for Adrian while facing 27 shots. The Bulldogs converted one of three extra-man opportunities and went 21-for-24 on clears.
Adrian moves to 2-7 on the season and will look to bounce back Wednesday, April 1 as they open up conference play at Kalamazoo College. Opening draw set for 7:00 PM.
