DES MOINES, Iowa – Adrian College ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey alumnus Braidan Simmons-Fischer signed a professional try-out contract (PTO) with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Simmons-Fischer played one season with the Bulldogs in 2024-25 after transferring from NCAA Division I St. Thomas (Minn.).
During his time at Adrian, Simmons-Fischer appeared in 19 games on the blue line, recording two goals and six assists. Following his stint with the Bulldogs, he signed with the Port Huron Prowlers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), where he finished the 2024-25 campaign.
Simmons-Fischer began the current season in the ECHL with the Allen Americans, appearing in 40 games while tallying one goal and nine assists.
He made his AHL debut on Friday, March 20, skating for the Iowa Wild against the Ontario Reign. While he did not record a point, Simmons-Fischer registered a five-minute major penalty for fighting in his first appearance.
The Iowa Wild serve as the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild.
With his debut, Simmons-Fischer becomes the first player in Adrian College ACHA Men's Division 1 program history to compete in the AHL.
Iowa returns to action on Sunday, March 22, traveling to face the Chicago Wolves.
