ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College Athletic Director Craig Rainey '89 announced a change at the helm of the Adrian College ACHA Women's Division I hockey program on Monday afternoon. Head coach Brendan Ramboer has resigned after two seasons, paving the way for the return of Maddy (Maloney) Nolan as the program's new head coach.
Ramboer spent the last two seasons leading the Bulldogs, guiding the team to back-to-back ACHA Women's Division I National Tournament appearances, including a semifinal finish during the 2024-25 season.
"We'd like to thank Brendan for all of his work over the last two seasons with this team," Rainey said. "We are excited to bring Maddy back to Adrian College to serve as the Women's Division I head coach and continue building on the success of the program as we pursue a return to national championship form."
Nolan returns to Adrian after a successful playing and coaching career within the program. A former ACHA Women's Division I student-athlete, she earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science while also gaining coaching experience as a volunteer assistant with the ACHA Women's Division II team and as an assistant with the ACHA Men's Division II program.
Following graduation, Nolan was named head coach of the ACHA Women's Division II team, where she compiled a 32-21 record over two seasons. During her tenure, the Bulldogs were twice named CCWHA Playoff Runner-Up, made two National Tournament appearances, and Nolan earned ACHA Women's Division II National Coach of the Year honors.
In addition to her time behind the bench, Nolan served as the CCWHA Division II Commissioner for two seasons. After leaving Adrian, she remained active in the sport as a Regional Manager for Perfect Hockey Utah and as the owner of Say No More Hockey Company LLC.
Nolan will begin her duties with the ACHA Women's Division I program immediately, focusing on recruiting and preparing the Bulldogs for the 2026-27 season.
