Men's NCAA Ice Hockey

Adam Phillips Listed as Finalist for the Edward Jeremiah Award

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced the finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Award on Monday afternoon. Adrian College NCAA men's hockey head coach Adam Phillips was named one of 13 finalists for the honor.

In his second season with the Bulldogs, Phillips guided Adrian to a 20-7-1 overall record, including a 14-3-1 mark in NCHA play. The Bulldogs captured the NCHA Peters Cup, earning the No. 1 seed in the Harris Cup Playoffs. During the 2025-26 campaign, Phillips led a turnaround in the conference standings, improving Adrian from a fourth-place finish in 2024-25 to NCHA champions this season.

Phillips was also named NCHA Coach of the Year and coached the NCHA Player of the Year, along with three All-Conference selections and two All-Freshman Team honorees.

Through two seasons at Adrian, Phillips holds a career record of 38-17-2, good for a .684 winning percentage.

The only Adrian College coach to previously receive the Edward Jeremiah Award was Adam Krug, who earned the honor during the 2021-22 season after leading the Bulldogs to a national championship.

The Edward Jeremiah Award, presented annually to the NCAA Division III Men's Coach of the Year, will be announced this weekend at the NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Frozen Four.
