ADA, Ohio -- The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Ada, Ohio, to compete at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier hosted by Ohio Northern University. It was a small group that made the trip, but several big performances took place.
For the men,
KJ Scott started the day by again breaking his own school record in the weight throw. He won the event with a new school record of 17.46 meters.
Jaymes Vines placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.94 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Vines placed seventh with a time of 23.32 seconds. Rounding out the events for the day,
Gavin Shelton placed fifth overall in the 3,000-meter run.
Another school record fell on the women's side.
Bridget Waterstradt broke Emme Koutz's 3,000-meter run record, setting the new mark at 10:32.95.
Alysia Townsend placed fifth in the high jump and second in the long jump.
Madaline Goldmeyer placed third in the 400-meter dash, setting a new personal best of 61.97 seconds.
