SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Adrian College men's and women's track teams traveled to Spring Arbor, Michigan, to compete in the Bill Bippes Invite hosted by Spring Arbor University.
Starting the day off strong, the men's 4x100-meter relay took first with a time of 42.16 seconds with
Brandon Berry, Cal DeLise,
Asher Cousino and
Jaymes Vines anchoring. In the 400-meter hurdles,
Asher Cousino and
Joseph Sheridan took fourth and fifth overall.
Jaymes Vines had a day to remember with two personal bests in the 100 and 200-meter dash, running times of 10.74 and 21.65 seconds respectively, placing third in both events. Cal DeLise took seventh in the 100-meter dash with a personal best of 11.17 and eighth in the 200-meter dash with a personal best of 22.34 seconds.
KJ Scott won the discus and took second in the hammer throw with a new personal best, throwing 46.11 meters in the discus and 48.38 meters in the hammer. Mathew Cunningham took third and
Ethan DeBerry placed fifth in the pole vault.
Leading the way for the women,
Alysia Townsend placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.65 seconds. On the field, Alysia took second in the long jump with a jump of 5.49 meters and fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.53 meters. Alysia, joined by
Madaline Goldmeyer,
Elizabeth Buckley and
Maddy Loe, took fourth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.98 seconds.
Bridget Waterstradt won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:17.38, a new personal best.
Sidney Pentoney ran a personal best in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:31.47, and
Grace Youngs ran a personal best in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:57.31.
The Bulldog track team is set to travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on April 18 to compete in the Calvin Invite hosted by Calvin University.
