Competitive Cheerleading Places Fourth in Advanced Category at NCA National in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Adrian College cheerleading team competed at the annual National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Nationals in Florida over the weekend. The Bulldogs made their debut on the Bandshell and became the first Adrian College cheerleading team to compete in the Advanced Division.

"This was the first time AC Cheer has competed in the Advanced category at NCA Nationals," said head coach Jennifer Edwards Wheaton '19. "The team worked hard to accomplish something a Bulldog team has never done and paved the way for future teams to take the Bandshell."

Adrian College placed fourth in the Advanced All Girl Division III category at NCA Nationals. During prelims, the Bulldogs posted a raw score of 76.40 before improving to a 77.50 in the finals. Their overall score to conclude the competition was 76.350. Adrian demonstrated strong execution throughout the routine, particularly in the pyramid and toss sections, where the Bulldogs outscored the majority of teams in their division.

The event marked the final competition of the 2025-26 season and the inaugural season for Adrian College's competitive cheerleading program. The Bulldogs will return to action next year, beginning with sideline cheer at Adrian College home football games before preparing for their next competitive season.
