CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – The Adrian College men's golf team traveled south over the weekend to compete in a three-round tournament in North Carolina hosted by Oglethorpe University. Facing a field that featured multiple nationally ranked teams, the Bulldogs finished 19th overall with a three-round score of 923. Adrian opened the event with a 316, followed by a 301 in round two, before closing with a 306.
Carter Klawonn led the Bulldogs with a team-best 223 over the three rounds. He opened with a 75, followed by a 71 in round two to move to 1-under par for the tournament, highlighted by an eagle. Klawonn closed the weekend with a 77.
Simon Foreman finished second among Adrian's starting five with a 229. He carded a 79 in the opening round before posting back-to-back rounds of 75.
Mason Gurney was next for the Bulldogs with a 233. After shooting an 80 in round one, he improved with a 77 in round two and a 76 in the final round. Michael Shubeck posted a 238 after opening with an 82 and finishing with consecutive rounds of 78. Jaden Eggers rounded out the starting lineup with a 245, shooting rounds of 83, 84, and 78.
The Bulldogs return to action April 17-18 when they travel to Trine University for the AC Eddy Invite at Zollner Golf Course. Friday's round is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m., followed by Saturday's final round at 9 a.m.
