ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College men's golf team traveled to Trine University over the weekend for a two-day event, finishing fifth out of nine teams. The Bulldogs opened with a 305 at Zollner Golf Course before carding a 315 on day two at Glendarin Hills Golf Club for a combined score of 620.
Mason Gurney paced Adrian by tying for 10th in the field with a two-round total of 150. He opened the tournament with a 73 on Friday before adding a 77 on Saturday.
Carter Klawonn followed with a 154 after back-to-back rounds of 77. Simon Foreman finished at 158 with rounds of 77 and 81, while Jaden Eggers posted a 159 after rounds of 80 and 79. Michael Shubeck rounded out the starting lineup with rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160.
Jack Waldo and Cole Zavadil also competed as individuals. Waldo finished with a 167 after rounds of 81 and 86, while Zavadil recorded a 180 with scores of 81 and 99.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, April 23, for a two-round match play contest against Siena Heights University. The day begins with a 2v2 best ball match at Tecumseh Golf Club at 8 a.m., followed by an 18-hole singles match play event at The Hills of Lenawee Golf Club at approximately 2 p.m.
