ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup to Colorado College, 21-8, on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium.
Colorado College jumped out to an early lead, scoring four unanswered goals in the opening quarter before Austin Selvage got Adrian on the board late in the period. The Tigers carried that momentum into the second quarter, erupting for nine goals to take a 13-2 advantage into halftime. Braeden McNamara added Adrian's second goal of the first half, but Colorado's balanced attack proved difficult to contain, as the visitors capitalized on extra-man opportunities and strong possession play.
The Bulldogs showed fight coming out of the break, putting together their best stretch of the game in the third quarter. Adrian scored six goals in the frame, highlighted by a hat trick from McNamara and two goals from Selvage. Trace Tidswell added a man-up goal, while Bradyn Parrott found the back of the net to cap the run, trimming the deficit to 15-8 heading into the fourth. Despite the surge, Colorado regained control in the final quarter, outscoring Adrian 6-0 to seal the 21-8 final.
Selvage and McNamara led the Bulldogs with three goals each, while McNamara added an assist for a team-high four points. David Harrison dished out two assists, and Tidswell and Parrott each contributed a goal.
In goal, Josiah Karnehm recorded 10 saves in the first half, while Owen Smith added 13 stops in relief. Adrian finished with 28 shots compared to Colorado's 64, while the Tigers also held advantages in ground balls (34-21) and faceoffs (19-12).
Adrian will look to bounce back as they will host Hope College Wednesday for their final regular season matchup. Opening faceoff set for 7:00 PM.Â
