ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant offensive performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Albion, 20-7, at Docking Stadium.
After surrendering the game's opening goal, Adrian quickly took control with a seven-goal first quarter. Sarah Gross sparked the run with a man-up goal, while Jenna Allie and Madeline Turcotte each added multiple scores as the Bulldogs built a 7-2 lead after one.
Adrian continued to pour it on in the second quarter, outscoring Albion 7-2 to take a commanding 14-4 advantage into halftime. Turcotte orchestrated the offense throughout the frame, tallying multiple goals and assists, while Abby Malone, Mariana Miller, and Grace Holland each found the back of the net.
The Bulldogs maintained their momentum in the third, holding Albion scoreless while adding three more goals to extend the lead to 17-4. Kacie Woodall and Jessica Schmidt each scored in the period, while Malone added another tally.
In the fourth, Adrian continued its balanced attack, with Allie netting two more goals and Woodall adding a late score to cap the 20-goal performance.
Turcotte led all players with nine points on four goals and five assists, while Allie finished with a team-high five goals. Malone added a hat trick, and Miller contributed four points (two goals, two assists). Woodall recorded five points on two goals and three assists in the win.
Adrian dominated statistically, outshooting Albion 43-19 and holding a 36-14 advantage in ground balls. The Bulldogs also controlled the draw (16-12) and were strong in transition, going 18-of-22 on clears.
In goal, Bella Norton earned the win with five saves in 45 minutes of action, while Emerysn Alberts added a save in relief.
With the victory, Adrian improves to 11-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play as it continues its strong run heading into their final regular season game hosting Calvin Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
