ADRIAN, Mich. -- Short travel for the Adrian College men's and women's track and field teams as they competed in the Don Kleinow Memorial Invite hosted by Siena Heights in Adrian, Michigan. The meet was held over two days, Thursday and Friday.
The throwers had a great day at Siena Heights as KJ Scott set another school record this time in hammer throw, throwing 52.15 meters to win the event. Additionally, he won the discus, throwing 46.79 meters. Mathew Cunningham placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 44.79 meters. Ethan Rucarean placed seventh in the javelin with a personal best of 42.66 meters. Willem Evenson placed third in pole vault, and Mathew Cunningham tied for fourth. Ian Chavis placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 6.52 meters and seventh in triple jump with a mark of 12.18 meters.
On the track, Josh Trudell placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles. In the 100-meter dash, Jaymes Vines and Cal DeLise placed fourth and seventh. They joined Brandon Berry and Asher Cousino to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.19 seconds. Ryan Morris ran a personal best in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:07.80. The 4x400-meter relay of Josh Trudell, Cal DeLise, Ian Chavis and Jaymes Vines placed third with a time of 3:34.93.
The women's throwers stood out, placing three girls in the top eight of the hammer throw. Clarissa Berger won the event with a personal best of 42.87 meters. Mallory Platzer placed seventh with a personal best of 39.27 meters. Ari James placed eighth with a personal best of 37.88 meters. On the field, Alysia Townsend placed fifth in the long jump with a jump of 5.78 meters. Ema Crowley, Vivian Vallarsa and Emily Peterson placed sixth, seventh and eighth in the long jump. Alysia Townsend placed sixth in the high jump.
On the track, Vivian Vallarsa set a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.28 seconds, earning seventh place. The 4x100-meter relay of Madaline Goldmeyer, Maddy Loe, Piper Pierce and Alysia Townsend placed third with a time of 52.30 seconds.
The Bulldogs are set to travel to Holland, Michigan, to compete in the MIAA Outdoor Championships. This is a two-day meet hosted by Hope College on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1.
