SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Adrian College women's lacrosse team used a dominant offensive performance to secure a 15-7 victory over St. Mary's (Ind.) on Tuesday evening. With the win, Adrian improves to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while St. Mary's moves to 10-2 (2-1).
The Bulldogs were powered by Jenna Allie, who led all players with seven points on five goals and two assists. Madeline Turcotte added a strong all-around effort with three goals and three assists, while Kacie Woodall chipped in a hat trick.
Sarah Gross contributed two goals, and Skylar Donaldson and Abby Malone each found the back of the net to round out Adrian's scoring.
Adrian came out firing in the opening quarter, jumping out to a 4-2 lead behind a hat trick from Allie. The Bulldogs continued to control the pace in the second quarter, scoring four more goals, including a man-up finish from Turcotte, to take an 8-4 advantage into halftime.
After the break, Adrian maintained momentum, outscoring St. Mary's 2-1 in the third quarter to extend its lead to 10-5. The Bulldogs then put the game out of reach in the fourth, netting five goals, highlighted by two more from Allie and a pair from Woodall.
Defensively, Adrian limited St. Mary's to just 19 shots while forcing 25 turnovers. Goalkeeper Bella Norton earned the win with seven saves in over 56 minutes of action, while Emerysn Alberts added two saves in relief.
The Bulldogs held advantages in shots (33-19) and ground balls (8-7), while also converting three of six free-position opportunities.
Adrian will look to continue its strong stretch of play on Saturday as they host Trine at 4:00 PM.
