HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Adrian College track and field team turned in several strong performances Friday at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet, highlighted by a first-place finish from Alysia Townsend in the women's long jump.
Townsend captured the event title with a leap of 5.74 meters (18-10.00), leading a strong showing for the Bulldogs in the field events. Teammate Piper Pierce added a ninth-place finish in the same event with a mark of 4.72 meters (15-6.00).
On the men's side, Keith Scott recorded a third-place finish in the discus throw after posting a toss of 47.13 meters (154-7), earning points for the Bulldogs.
Adrian also saw success on the track, as the men's 4x100 relay team of Brandon Berry, Cal Delisle, Asher Cousino, and Jaymes Vines finished second with a time of 41.69 seconds.
Maddy Goldmeyer qualified for the finals in the women's 100-meter preliminaries after clocking a 12.99. Goldmeyer also competed in the women's 400 meters, placing fifth with a time of 1:01.45.
In the hurdles, Vivian Vallarsa posted a time of 16.07 in the women's 100-meter hurdles preliminaries, while Ian Kramp qualified for the finals in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a prelim time of 19.16. Kramp also added a seventh-place finish in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.22 meters (20-5.00).
The Bulldogs return to action next week at the St. Francis Last Chance Meet, hosted by St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois on Friday, May 8.
