ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 hockey program is proud to announce its official roster for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
The Bulldogs completed their annual tryout camp last week, which resulted in great success in determining the 29-man roster. The ten newly rostered players include five defensemen and five forwards. The defensive core was bolstered with the addition of
Colin Whaley (Adrian, MI), who spent his last two seasons with the Adrian NCAA DIII program, along with Casey Sturm (Lake In The Hills, IL), who is a Sophomore transfer from New England College NCAA DIII. Adding to the back end are freshmen
Antoine Bonin (Bromont, QC / Fort Wayne Spacemen USPHL), Joe Curtin (Livonia, MI / Stratford Warriors GOHL) and
Jack Williams (Anchorage, AK / New Mexico Ice Wolves NA3HL). Up front, the Bulldogs added five forwards to the lineup.
Carson Brown (Langley, BC) transfers into his Sophomore year from the University of Jamestown ACHA D1, Noel Englot (Regina, SK / Melfort Mustangs SJHL),
Carson Harris (Campbell River, BC / Peninsula Panthers VIJHL),
Vincent Leaf (Des Moines, IA / Sheridan Hawks NA3HL) and Jimmy Monks (Wyandotte, MI / Toledo Cherokee USPHL).
The ten incoming student-athletes will join nineteen returners who finished last season with a 32-7-2 record, winning the GL6 Regular Season Championship and the program's tenth straight Conference Regular Season Championship. The Bulldogs also captured the GL6 Playoff Championship last season, before cruising their way to the ACHA National Championship game for the fourth season in a row.
This season's roster is comprised of seven seniors, seven juniors, seven sophomores, seven freshmen, and one graduate student, as forward
Dylan Gajewski returns for his fifth year of ACHA eligibility. As expected, the team features a very diverse group of student-athletes from all over North America, including the states of Michigan (9), Alaska (1), Iowa (1), Illinois (1) and Canadian provinces/territories of Ontario (6), Alberta (3), British Columbia (3), Quebec (3), Saskatchewan (1) and Northwest Territories (1).
"I am looking forward to this year's group," said Head Coach,
Doug Raymond, who heads into his first season at the helm of the MD1 Bulldogs.
"It's always exciting to bring in a new recruiting class each and every year. I feel we have a great group of returners with valuable playing experience and leadership, along with an incoming class, who is ready to make their mark on their college careers."
The MD1 Bulldogs will open the season at home for a 7:05 PM puck drop against the Toledo Jr. Cherokee (NCDC) on September 14th. Adrian will then host Vancouver Island University (BCIHL) for two more exhibition games at the Arrington Ice Arena on September 18th (7:05 PM) and September 19th (4:05 PM) before their Home Opener on September 25th (7:05 PM) against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
