SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team had its final tune-up before conference play on Friday. The team headed to Lawrence Tech to take on the Blue Devils.
Adrian found themselves in another close battle in the match's first set. Lauren Boehmer accounted for three of Adrian's first six points. The Bulldogs built a 14-11 lead after back-to-back kills courtesy of Kendall Sullivan. The Blue Devils answered with a 14-5 run to close out the first-set victory.
In the second set, Lawrence Tech picked up right where they left off. The Blue Devils raced out to a 9-5 lead and never trailed for the entire set. Adrian's eight attack errors prevented any momentum the Bulldogs' way.
Down to their last life, the Bulldogs needed a win in the third set. However, Lawrence Tech continued their dominance. The Adrian defense struggled to prevent Lawrence Tech from racking up the points. The Blue Devils led by as much as 15 at one point in the set before sealing the victory 25-14.
