ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team fell to Kenyon College, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium. The Bulldogs moved to 3-4 on the season following the non-conference contest.
Adrian generated the first shot on goal of the match when Andy Ignatovich tested the Kenyon goalkeeper in the sixth minute. Goalkeeper Eli Sizemore answered with several early saves to keep the match scoreless through the opening stages. Nick Miller produced another scoring chance for the Bulldogs in the 30th minute before sending a second attempt wide in the 36th minute. Kenyon broke the deadlock in the 40th minute and carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Kenyon extended its lead with goals in the 48th and 53rd minutes. Bryan Baker looked to get Adrian on the board with an attempt in the 57th minute, while Alex Russell placed a shot on goal in the 74th minute. The Owls added the final goal of the match in the 88th minute to complete the scoring.
Sizemore played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with 10 saves, including six in the opening half. Miller led Adrian with two shots, while Ignatovich and Russell each recorded an attempt on goal.
Kenyon finished with a 28-5 advantage in shots and a 14-3 edge in shots on goal. The visitors also earned 10 corner kicks compared with two for the Bulldogs.
Adrian will remain at home to face Wabash College on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Docking Stadium.
