ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Women's Division 1 hockey team played three games at Arrington Ice Arena over the weekend, falling to the University of Arizona 2-0 on Thursday before bouncing back with a pair of victories over Lake Superior State University on Friday and Saturday.
Thursday's matchup remained scoreless through the first two periods before Arizona broke through with two goals in the third to hand Adrian the 2-0 loss. Taylor Kinkade made 24 saves in net for the Bulldogs.
Adrian responded Friday with a 6-1 victory over Lake Superior State. Chloe Gregory opened the scoring in the first before Morgan Christopher, Nadia Nickel, and Avery Hubenschmidt scored in the second to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 advantage. Annie Mallon and Hubenschmidt added power-play goals in the third to finish off the win. Adrian outshot the Lakers 56-29, while Pippa Holmes made 28 saves.
The Bulldogs completed the weekend with a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. Kennedy Murphy opened the scoring in the first period before Mackenzie Parent and Mallon added third-period goals. Adrian held a 39-8 advantage in shots, while Kinkade stopped all eight shots she faced to earn the shutout.

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, October 1, when they travel to Ann Arbor for a CCWHA matchup against the University of Michigan at Yost Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
