ADRIAN, Mich. - It was a tale of two halves on Tuesday afternoon as visiting Kalamazoo defeated Adrian by the score of 2-0 in a cloudy day at Performance Stadium. The Hornets and Bulldogs played an even match for the first half each attempting two shots overall. The score was 0-0 heading into halftime when the Hornets seemed to wake up and sting the 'Dogs.
Aliza Caplan had a sneaky goal to get K-Zoo on the board. She carried the ball up the right side and got the ball past goalkeeper Lindsay Baic on the near post as the ball trickled across the goal line at the 49:52 mark. Kalamazoo continued the pressure and got a breakaway chance which Jaime Franks converted for her first goal of the season with an assist from Caplan. Frank's goal at the 73:43 mark was straight on from six yards out to give K-Zoo a 2-0 lead.
Adrian would not record their first shot on goal until the final minute of the match off the foot of Lindsay Chitwood. Adrian was outshot 20-4 including 18-2 in the second half. Baic did make eight saves in net while Kassandra Johnston and Monisha Berkowski shared the shutout in net for the Hornets.
