Adrian and Kalamazoo fought to a scoreless tie on Wednesday afternoon as neither team could put one in the back of the net after 110 minutes. The first half was the closest statistically as Kalamazoo outshot Adrian, 5-3. After the first half it was the Hornets who took 13 shots compared to just one for the Bulldogs.
The Hornets only had three of those 18 total shots on net as Steffeny Burns made three saves including one in the first overtime session. Taylor Comiskey made two saves for Kalamazoo. Julie Schroeder had two chances at the end of regulation but both of her attempts were wide in the last six minutes of the second half.
Burns made a big save at 95:40 on a shot off the foot of Sarah Arnosky in the first overtime. Bethany Cousino had a shot on goal at 101:44 for Adrian. Maggie Rogers took the final shot of the match which went wide at 107:31.
Adrian is now 8-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the MIAA. Adrian has become a noticeable team in the league having lost to Kalamazoo in the MIAA Tournament a year ago.
