ADRIAN, Mich. - The Bulldog women's tennis team claimed their first MIAA dual match victory since the 2003 season as they defeated the Tri-State University Thunder by a 7-2 margin on Saturday afternoon for their second-straight win.

The number one doubles tandem of Lindsey Eshelman and Katelyn Simcina wasted little time in securing a win by taking the opener 8-3. Leeann Brooks and Emily Brede had similar success in the three doubles spot, claiming an 8-4 win to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 advantage after the completion of the doubles pairings.

Eshleman, Simcina, and Brede continued their success into the singles portion of the match by taking wins at one, two, and six singles, respectively. Robyn Bahr had a solid day at three singles, taking her match in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-4. Katie MacFarlan played and prevailed in the most exciting match of the day. The freshman took a thrilling win by 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 scores to give the Bulldogs the eventual 7-2 victory.

The Bulldogs will get to play on the friendly confines of the Craft Tennis Complex on the campus of Adrian College again on Monday, April 7 when they host Defiance College at 4:00 p.m.
