Big Second Half Propels Adrian to Season-Opening Win

Aug. 29, 2008

Box Score

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Adrian College women's soccer team got a win in head coach Ali Alamdari's first game at the College with a 4-1 win at Anderson on Friday. The balanced scoring for the Bulldogs put them over the top in this contest which is hopefully something to look forward to in the remainder of the season.

Melissa Rederstorf scored the season's first goal with an assist from Sarah Evans in the 14th minute off a corner kick. Lindsay Chitwood began where she left off in 2007 by scoring the team's second goal unassisted in the 46th minute just 26 seconds into the second half.

Katie Rocholl cut the lead to 2-1 in the 50th minute with assists from Carlie Clark and Abbey Witt. It took just under two minutes for Adrian to regain their two-goal lead as Brittany Moreau made it 3-1 with an unassisted goal.

The insurance tally for Adrian came in the 70th minute as Tessa Kellar put a nice cushion between the Bulldogs and Ravens securing win number one in 2008. Amanda House picked up the win in net making four saves. Adrian outshout Anderson, 13-7, for the game and chased goalkeeper Kelsey Alcorn in the 76th minute.
