ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College Division 1 ACHA team defeated Washington & Jefferson on Friday night by the score of 5-2. The Bulldogs are now 8-4 overall.

The Bulldogs scored two goals in the first period, one in the second and two more in the third to earn the 5-2 victory.

Spencer Bonomo scored the first goal of the game against the Presidents. Bonomo was assisted on the goal by Chris Dixon and Alex Norman.

Mike Yakamovich scored the other first period goal for Adrian. Bonomo and Jack Goodell were credited with an assist on the play.

The lone goal of the second period was scored by Justen Mitchell. Dixon picked up his second assist of the night on the goal. Randy Cox also recorded an assist on the Mitchell goal.

The Presidents were finally able to get on the scoreboard in the final period of play. W&J scored two goals in the third period, but it wouldn't matter as AC also scored two goals. Alex Norman and Randy Cox scored the third period goals for Adrian.

The game had 17 penalties, but neither team was able to score a power play goal. Adrian went 0-4, while Washington & Jefferson went 0-6.

Matt Welch was the goalkeeper for Adrian. Welch made 11 saves in the first period and 10 in the second without allowing a goal. In the final 20 minutes of action he made 10 saves.
