Women's Softball Suffers First Loss of Season

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Adrian College women's softball team fell to Bluffton 5-4, but came back strong to beat Gwynedd-Mercy 8-0 in just six innings.

Bluffton won the first game by hitting a walk off homerun. Kelly Eberhardt started on the mound for Adrian. She was pulled in the fifth inning and replaced by Sarah Almack. Holly Lowe had a nice game at the plate. The sophomore went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Katie Adams also went 2-for-3 from the plate. She had one RBI, and also scored a run.

Kelly Tomasek threw six innings to earn the win in game two. She threw a one hitter and finished the game with five strikeouts. Krissy Sheets did some damage in the batter's box for Adrian. Sheets went 3-for-4 from the plate and also scored two runs. Katrina Wotten contributed by scoring three of Adrian's eight runs, and Adams did her part by going 2-for-3 from the plate.

Adrian will return to action March 6 with a game against Indiana Wesleyan at 9:00 a.m. The team will finish their spring break trip with a game against Maryville at 1:00 p.m.
