Men's Lacrosse Ends Season with 15-14 Overtime Loss at Washington & Jefferson

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Adrian men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-14 overtime contest at Washington & Jefferson on Saturday in their season finale and ended their second season with a winning record of 8-6 overall.

The Presidents' Mike Frank scored an unassisted goal with eight seconds left in overtime to propel the host to their eighth win of the year (8-5). The first half was filled with offense while each team found it tough to score in the second half and overtime. W&J led 7-6 after the first quarter and 10-9 at halftime.

Neither team led by more than two goals throughout the game as Adrian led 4-2 with 6:26 left in the first quarter and the Presidents led 11-9 at the 12:46 mark of the third quarter. After the break, Sean Jasionowski scored a man-down goal to give W&J a two-goal cushion. Brad Higgins got Adrian within 11-10 at the end of the third with a goal at 6:00 assisted from Tyler Tanguay.

D.J. Clevely tied the game at the 13:31 mark of the fourth quarter assisted by T.J. Cook. The next four goals were all man-up scores as both teams notched two. Zach Devilbiss and Frank scored for the Presidents and Cook and Clevely scored for the Bulldogs.

Devilbiss gave W&J a 14-13 lead with 3:02 left unassisted at even strength and Adrian answered with Jeff Ivey's fourth goal of the game with 1:59 remaining assisted by Higgins at even strength. Adrian was 4-of-10 in extra-man situations while W&J was 3-of-8. Adrian served 7:30 on eight penalties while the Presidents served 8:30 on 10 penalties.

Eric Lindstrom played every minute in net and made 14 saves. Ivey led Adrian with four goals and took eight shots. Tanguay added two goals and one assist. Cook also scored twice and had one assist. David Monroe added two assists. Trevor Synek won 12-of-28 faceoffs and had eight ground balls.
