The 2009 season is officially underway but not with a favorable outcome for the women's soccer team. They were blanked 1-0 on Tuesday at Baldwin-Wallace as the Yellowjackets scored with just over five minutes remaining off a corner kick.
Noelle Fox notched her first goal of the season at the 84:40 mark from six yards out off a corner kick and the Bulldogs could simply not muster any offense against B-W. Adrian managed just one shot on goal off the foot of freshman Samantha Bono. Lindsay Chitwood had a team-high three shots while Sarah Evans added two shots.
Fox led B-W with four shots including two shots on goal. Elizabeth Reinbrecht came off the bench to collect two shots and one shot on goal. Becky Miner and Meagan McLaughlin shared the shutout in goal for Baldwin-Wallace. They each played one half and 45 minutes. Steffeny Burns played all 90 minutes for the Bulldogs and made three saves.
Baldwin-Wallace committed 15 fouls and Adrian was whisted for seven as Chitwood was hit with a yellow card at the 83:18 mark. Adrian had three offsides and B-W had two.
