ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College softball team has now won five games in a row after sweeping cross-town rival Siena Heights on Tuesday afternoon. Adrian shutout the Saints in game one winning by the final score of 3-0, but it took a late rally in the bottom of the seventh to win game two 5-4.

Kelly Eberhardt shined against Siena Heights in game one. Eberhardt threw a complete game and limited the Saints to three hits. She threw eight strikeouts against SHU to record her fifth win of the season.

Adrian scored one run in the bottom of the first, and then added another in the second. Kristin Toney hit an RBI single to left field allowing Sarah Hall to score the first run of the game for AC. Adrian pushed the lead to 2-0 after Maggie Hein scored an unearned run off a Siena Heights error. The Bulldogs scored another unearned run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Emily Pilon scored the final run of the game off an RBI single from Meghan Stevens. Toney went 2-for-4 from the plate in game one with one double and one RBI. Hall also picked up her third double of the season.

Adrian was forced to come from behind to take game two. The Saints held a 3-1 lead after three innings and eventually made the game 4-1 by picking up another run in the top of the sixth. Adrian kept the game within reach and put up four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to steal the victory.

Jami Shafley made her first start of her young career for Adrian. Shafley threw the first three innings and threw two strikeouts before being replaced by Eberhardt. Eberhardt came in for the final four innings and struck out four batters. She was in the circle for the Adrian comeback, so her record now stands at 6-2.

Katrina Wotten led off the third inning with a double to left centerfield for the Bulldogs. Hein's at-bat advanced Wotten to third, and a base hit back up the middle of the infield gave Adrian their first run of the game.

The Adrian offense stalled until crunch time. The Bulldogs scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning off of four hits and one Saint error. The inning started in Adrian's favor as Katie Adams was walked as the leadoff batter. Rachel Batman laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Adams into scoring position.

Hall came to the plate with one on and one out. She hit a single to left field allowing Adams to advance to third. Stevens followed in the lineup with an RBI single up the middle. Adams scored and Hall moved to third. With the momentum swinging in Adrian's favor Siena Heights decided to make a pitching change. The change didn't help as Jenna Kloster loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch.

Toney made the play of the game with a two RBI single to left centerfield to tie the game. Hall and Stevens scored, and Toney and Kloster were both able to advance on a throwing error by the Saints centerfielder. Amara Karapas gave Adrian the win with a walk-off single to left field. Kloster scored the game-winning run giving Adrian the 5-4 comeback victory.
