HOLLAND, Mich. - The women's tennis team
finished their season on Saturday morning with a 5-3 win over Alma
in the seventh place match at the MIAA Tournament hosted by
Hope.
Robyn
Denney was named Second Team All-MIAA after the tournament and
claimed a victory at one singles in her final match of the season.
Denney won 7-6, 6-1 over Amy Baranowski. Denney was 7-11 in singles
play this season.
Katelyn
Simcina won at two singles with a 7-5, 6-2 score against Abbey
McCue. Shelby
Kruszewski and Shannon Woods also
won their singles matches. Kruszewski was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at four
singles while Woods won 6-1, 6-0 at six singles. Woods turned in a
great season going 15-5 in singles action.
Denney and Sarah Brooks won
their number one doubles match, 8-6, over Baranowski and Kelsey
Erwin. The duo won six times in 2010.
