The rivalry between Adrian and Siena Heights was physical and
after 110 minutes the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The weather was not
conducive to a high-scoring game and the first half was the only
time each team cracked the scoreboard.
The Saints got an early break in the first half as a handball in
the box led to a penalty kick. Bridgette Scott converted the chance
for her first goal of the season at 16:50 to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs scored the equalizer on a nice play between McKenzie Doda and Sam Barker. Doda took the ball near the midfield line and
lobbed a pass about 30 yards where Barker ran underneath and
collected it before sprinting down the middle and sliding the ball
past the goalkeeper at 42:42. It was Barker's fifth goal of the
season.
Neither team scored the rest of the way through double overtime
as the Bulldogs ended with four shots on goal and 13 total shots.
Siena Heights also had 13 total shots with five shots on goal.
Chayna Wallace made four saves and Haley Mancini had three saves
for the Saints.
