ROME, Ga. – The Adrian College men's tennis team didn't have such a sweet time down in Georgia as they fell to Berry College 8-1. The Bulldogs are now 0-2 to start the season.
The Bulldogs fell behind early as the Vikings jumped out in front to a 3-0 lead as they swept the doubles matches. Chris Ludwig and Cameron Hamilton were shutout 8-0 in the first position, Dominic Merollis and Cameron Honeywell went 8-3 in second doubles while Alex Ziajor and Nick Petrucci fell 8-2 in the number three spot.
In the singles matches, Ziajor got the Bulldogs their first match win of the season as he defeated Will Murphy 6-4, 6-1 in the sixth position. Ludwig fell in the top position 6-1, 6-0. David Blaker lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 and Hamilton lost 6-4, 6-1 in the number three singles. Honeywell and Petrucci also fell short as they lost 6-2, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth and fifth singles respectively.
Adrian will host St. Mary's (Minn.) at 2:00 p.m. on March 8.
