HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team fell in their MIAA conference opener 9-0 to Hope College. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-6 on the season.
Cameron Hamilton gave the Bulldogs the best chance at a win but fell in three sets in the number three singles 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Anthony Honeywell also put up a good fight in the fourth singles as he fell 7-5, 6-2. Nick Petrucci dropped his fifth singles match 6-3, 6-0. Chris Ludwig in the first singles and Alex Ziajor in the number six singles both dropped their matches 6-1, 6-1. In the second singles match David Blaker fell 6-0, 6-1.
In the doubles matches, Petrucci and Ziajor gave it their best as they fell in the extra set 9-7. In the first doubles Blaker and Hamilton dropped their match 8-2 while Ludwig and Honeywell fell 8-3 in the second doubles match.
The Bulldogs will next host Kalamazoo on April 5 at 4:00 pm
