Bulldogs Stung by Hornets 9-0

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team experienced first-hand why Kalamazoo College has won the previous 74 MIAA Championships as they swept the Bulldogs 9-0 in Adrian's first home match of the season. With the loss, Adrian's record now stands at 0-7 on the season and 0-2 in the conference.

Adrian's best opportunity for an upset came in the second doubles match as Anthony Honeywell and Chris Ludwig fell 8-4. In the first doubles pairing, David Blaker and Cameron Hamilton fell 8-3 while Nick Petrucci and Alex Ziajor dropped the third doubles 8-0.

In the singles matches, every Adrian player was able to take at least one set of each match. In the number one singles, Ludwig fell 6-1, 6-1 while Blacker also dropped his number two singles match by the same score of 6-1, 6-1. In the third singles match, Hamilton fell 6-2, 6-1 while in the fourth singles pairing Honeywell dropped 6-1, 6-2. Petrucci and Ziajor put up the best fight on the singles side in the fifth and sixth singles pairing respectively. Petrucci dropped his match 6-3, 6-1 while Ziajor fell 6-1, 6-3.

The Bulldogs will travel to Spring Arbor on April 7 for a 4:00 pm match.
