SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team fell to non-conference opponent Spring Arbor University 9-0. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-8 on the season.
Dominic Merollis gave Adrian their best opportunity for a win in the number six singles, but fell in a third set tie-breaker 6-1, 3-6, 10-8. Nick Petrucci also had a decent showing in the fourth singles dropping his match 6-2, 6-2. David Blaker and Anthony Honeywell both fell 6-0, 6-1 in the first and third singles matches respectively. Alex Ziajor dropped his fifth singles match 6-0, 6-2 while Cameron Hamilton dropped the second singles match 6-1, 6-0.
On the doubles side, the third doubles team of Petrucci and Ziajor was the only tandem to take a game as they fell 8-1. In first doubles, Blaker and Hamilton were swept 8-0 while Honeywell and Merollis defaulted to Spring Arbor in the second doubles.
Adrian will travel to Defiance College on April 8 for a 4:00 pm match.
