Bulldogs Claw Their Way to 6-3 Win over Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The women's tennis team won for the third time in their last four matches on Thursday afternoon (Apr. 7) at Spring Arbor University with a 6-3 triumph over the Cougars. Adrian College is now 5-7 overall after starting the season at 0-5.

The Bulldogs started things off with a pair of doubles wins. Shannon Woods and Katelyn Simcina defeated Kelly Smith and Becca Kragt, 8-3, at one doubles. The tandem is now 2-0 together this season. Sarah Brooks and Jordenne Ferenczi claimed an 8-4 win at three doubles over Jenna Moore and Jennifer Wagner. Brooks and Ferenczi are now 8-1 at three doubles as a pair this season.

Adrian then claimed four out of six wins in singles competition. Woods was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at two singles over Kragt. She evened her season record at 6-6 in singles action. Sarah Kean won 6-2, 6-3 at three singles over Muriel Adib. Kean also is 6-6 in singles play this season. Ferenczi won 6-3, 6-1 at five singles over Wagner. Ferenczi improved to 3-2 in singles play this season. Sarah Sokolowski was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at six singles over Moore. Sokolowski picked up her third singles win this season.
