Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team secured their second win of the season as they downed the Cardinals of Concordia University (Mich.), 74-63. Five Bulldogs finished with double-digits in scoring as Adrian improved to 2-6 overall and 1-3 on the road.
The first half saw the Cardinals score the first 11 points of the game before the Bulldogs responded with a 7-0 run to leave the score at 11-7 with 14:29 left in the half. Adrian continued to battle back from that early 11 point deficit and tied the game for the first time, 16-16, at the 9:36 mark as a Rickey Jackson steal led to a Drew Torey field goal. The lead changed three times and the game was tied four times over the next six minutes of gameplay before a late 6-0 Adrian run helped the Bulldogs control the lead at the break, 37-29.
The second half started with the Cardinals once again scoring the first 11 points as Concordia (Mich.) took the lead from the Bulldogs, 40-37, with 16:48 left in the game. Adrian once again responded with a run as the Bulldogs would score 10 of the next 11 points in the game to take the lead back from the Cardinals 47-41 and never surrender this advantage. Concordia (Mich.) would never come closer than four points the rest of the game as the Adrian stretched its lead to as many as 14 before winning by 11, 74-63.
Ben Rodak led all scores as he tallied 17 points to accompany four rebounds and two assists. Rickey Jackson finished with 15 points, four rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Wesley Reed, Braxton Southwell, and Curtis Gordon each reached double-digits in scoring for the Bulldogs to contribute to the win Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs will play next December 28 in the "M" Club Classic when they travel to Mount Union to take on the Raiders at 7 p.m.
