Women's tennis defeated by Alma

ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's tennis team (7-6) had a rough outing against Alma College (6-7) as the Scots beat the Bulldogs, 9-0, Saturday afternoon in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

 

The highlight in singles play came from Jordenne Ferenczi, who lost a close first set 7-5, before going down 6-3 in the second set in No. 3 singles play. Outside of the eight games Ferenczi won, Morgan Spencer won five games in her loss at No. 2 singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2.

 

Arielle Williams had a tough outing at No. 1 singles, losing 6-1 and 6-2; while Adrian dropped No. 4, No. 5, and No.6 singles with only seven-won games combined.

 

The highlight in doubles play belonged to Spencer and Justine Hanson who lost 8-5 at No. 2 doubles play. Their five game wins were equal to the combined win total of No.1 and No.3 doubles for Adrian.

 

The women's team will travel to Trine on Wednesday, April 10th for a 4 p.m. match.
