OLIVET, Mich.--The Adrian College men's wrestling team went undefeated at Olivet College's Comet Duals. The Bulldogs were led on the day by great performances from freshmen James Davis (184) and Angus Arthur (197). Adrian improves to 7-1 on the season in dual matches.
Davis won all of his matches on the day in convincing fashion. First, against Alex Roberts of Manchester University, Davis won by technical fall, 16-0. Davis finished the day with two major decisions, 15-3 against Christian Dishler of Wisconsin-Whitewater University and 9-1 over Gavin Dersh-Fisher of Case Western Reserve.
Arthur won his first match against Colin Wise of Manchester by a pin at the 2:31 mark. Then Arthur took down Bowan Wileman of Wisconsin-Whitewater University with an 11-3 major decision. To finish his undefeated day Arthur beat Ryan Berg of Case Western Reserve by technical fall, 20-5.
Adrian College began the day facing off with Manchester University. The Bulldogs would win nine weight classes to beat Manchester 36-3.Tristen Nevadowski(174) won by pin at the 2:17 mark and Zach Reiger (Hwt.) won by major decision to lead the Bulldogs in the dual.
The Bulldogs would next face Wisconsin-Whitewater University. The Bulldogs won eight weight classes to win by a score of 34-9. Joining Arthur and Davis in leading the team in this match was Don Mandell (165) who defeated his opponent by a technical fall, 15-0.
In their final dual of the day the Bulldogs took down Case Western Reserve by winning eight weight classes to finish with a score of 40-9. Daniel Shear (149) pinned his opponent at the 2:24 mark and Brandon Harris (125) won by major decision, 12-3, to lead the Bulldogs in the match.
Adrian College's second team finished the day with a 1-1 record. Opening the day the Bulldogs won five matches against Grand Valley State University but came out just short losing 26-25. Chandler Reed (157) pinned his opponent at the 2:24 mark and Austin Eldred (141) won with a 15-5 major decision to lead the Bulldogs in the loss.
In their second match the Bulldogs beat Henry Ford College 45-6 behind eight individual wins. Alex Baysinger (125) with a 10-1 major decision, Chandler Reed with a 16-1 technical fall, and Zac Reynolds with a pin at the 2:16 mark lead the team in the victory.
Adrian will next take the mats Saturday December, 5 at 9:00 a.m. when they travel to Ada, Ohio to compete in the Ohio Northern Invite Tournament.
