CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Aiden Smith of the Adrian College NCAA men's wrestling team represented the Bulldogs at the NCAA Division III National Championships over the weekend. Competing in the 165-pound bracket, Smith earned the No. 4 seed in the tournament after winning the Central Regional. He went on to place eighth in the nation, earning All-American honors.
Smith opened the tournament with a 9-4 decision victory in his first bout. He then dropped to the consolation bracket after a loss by fall in the quarterfinals. Smith bounced back Friday night with a 7-0 victory to advance to Saturday's matches.
On Saturday, Smith fell in his first bout of the day before competing in the seventh-place match, where he was defeated 12-2 to finish eighth overall.
Smith's eighth-place finish marks the second All-American honor of his career and the eighth in program history for Adrian College. The NCAA Division III National Championships also marked the end of the 2025–26 season for the Adrian College men's wrestling team. The Bulldogs will return to the mat in November for the 2026–27 season.
