ARKADELPHIA, Ark.--The Adrian College men's wrestling team made a splash in its return as a varsity program over the weekend, capturing the Hatcher Duals hosted by NCAA Division II Ouachita Baptist University.
Freshmen Don Mandell and Joe Dombrowski led the team by going undefeated at 3-0.
Adrian opened the weekend facing off against National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) opponent Lyon College, defeating them 25-11.
Following the victory, Adrian faced off with Williams Baptist College (NAIA) in the semifinals coming out on top again by the score of 22-18.
In the finals, the Bulldogs upended the host Ouachita Baptist Tigers by the score of 25-22.

Undefeated wrestlers were Don Mandell and Joe Dombrowski, both 3-0. Brandon Harris, James Renaud, Tristen Nevadomski and James Davis all went 2-1.
In addition, the Bulldogs sent a split squad of 14 wrestlers who traveled to Muskegon, Mich., to participate in the Muskegon Community College Open Tournament. The Bulldogs had two wrestlers finish fourth in their respective weight classes, sophomore James Pace and freshman Aaron Ward.
Adrian previously sponsored men's wrestling at the NCAA level from 1959 to 1984.
Adrian will take to the mats again Wednesday November, 11, when it travels to Decatur, Indiana, to participate in the Wabash duals.
